SINGAPORE ART BOOK FAIR POP-UP

Join us for a 2-hour beginner-friendly workshop and discover the ancient art of Coptic binding - a style of bookbinding that traces its origins back to the 2nd century developed by the early Christian Copts of Egypt. Known for its intricate chain-like stitches and exposed spine, Coptic binding is celebrated as some of the earliest forms of the modern codex (the book as we know it today).

In this workshop, you’ll create your own handcrafted journal using the Coptic binding method. This non-adhesive binding style and expose spine allows the book to open completely flat - ideal for writing, sketching, or displaying.

Personalise your journal by selecting from a variety of cover papers and thread colours, making your creation one-of-a-kind.

At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a beautiful and functional journal - perfect as a sketchbook, notebook, or a meaningful handmade gift.
